Welcome to this installment.
I recently had the opportunity to score a silent film entitled, The Prisoner Of New Glasgow. This was a lot of fun to do. Not only because the music has a greater purpose of stitching the story together through the use of themes, but also, no dialogue to “step” on. The film maker, Susan Patrick, had shot the film when she was a teenager in 1971 on super 8. The film wasn’t finished. But, with the expert help from Taylor Whitney and Preserving The Past, LLC, they were able to digitize the film and complete the photo play. The film premiered in Canada last month with many of the original actors and families of actors in the audience. I have included a short commentary video from one of the actresses as well as the original scene that I used to audition. Take a moment to watch the brief videos:
